Welcome to NY

"The job of a teacher is to excite in the young a boundless sense of curiosity about life, so that the growing child shall come to apprehend it with an excitement tempered by awe and wonder." John Garrett

In our classroom we started the school year by integrating culture in the curriculum since day one. We begin with the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration from September 15 to October 15, and from there we don't stop. We have continued to celebrate our cultural differences.

On the next pages you will see examples of how we celebrated the Hispanic Heritage Month in our class this year. We wrote stories, read great books, sang songs and heard great storytelling from our parents and family members. We hope you will enjoy reading about them as much as we did learning and sharing.
