Welcome to First Grade!

Dear Families,

First grade is a wonderful year packed full of learning and fun!  Your childen are about to begin an adventure that we are blessed to witness.  Together, we will help guide them on their journey as they discover:

   1) the code to unlock the secret of reading

   2) the excitement of communicating ideas in writing

   3) the power of numbers and patterns

   4) the wonders of this world that God has given to us

   5) God's unconditional love for us

It is a time of transition and change with uniforms, homework, new rules and expectations, in addition to learning new skills that they will continue to build on throughout their school years.  Working together, we can make this year a positive and rewarding experience academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually for your children.

As parents, I consider you to be the greatest resource I have in providing your child with a meaningful and enriching school experience.  I encourage you to become an active part of our first grade.

Please be sure to explore the rest of our classroom website.  During the year I will be posting the weekly homework, the reading sight words we have covered to date and, of course, pictures of the children engaged in classroom activities, field trips and special events.
