Commutative, Associative, and Distributive properties of numbers can be used to simplify expressions. Verbal expressions can be translated into mathematical expressions. Equations can be solved using algebra tiles and properties of equality. Absolute value expressions can be evaluated by using substitution and the order of operations. Slope is related to the rate of change in real world that can be determined from graph, use of formula, or a table. Parallel and perpendicular lines can be graphed using the slope of the line of either one of these lines. Compound inequalities represent s the intersection or union of two inequalities. Processes: Practice the PEMDAS theory of Order of Operations. Simplify expressions by use of properties of numbers. Identify words in a verbal expression that represent variables and operations and arrange these terms in a mathematical expression that represents the verbal expression. Solve equations using algebra tiles and properties of equality. Substitute given values for specific variables and simplify by applying order of operations. Determine the slope of the line using two points from a graph of a line, and a table. Graph parallel and perpendicular lines using either slope of parallel or perpendicular line. Write a compound inequality using and/or, solve and graph the solution set |
