About Mrs. Kulzer About Mrs. Kulzer
My name is Mrs. Marianne Kulzer and I joined the St. Jude the Apostle faculty for the 2011-2012 school year, after a nearly eight-year hiatus from teaching, spent as a stay-at-home mom.

I hold both a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Teacher Education, both from the College of St.  Rose.  I also possess Permanent Certification as an Elementary Teacher in New York State.

I spent my first several years post-college working in a few area day care centers as first a preschool teacher and then as an administrator.   After nearly a  decade in  child care settings, I decided to make the move to the elementary classroom.

From 2001-2004, I taught at St. Mary's of Clinton Heights in East Greenbush.  During my first year there, I taught Kindergarten.  I moved up to first grade with the students in the fall of 2002, and I remained in first grade there until the spring of 2004, when my older daughter, Amelia, was born.  That same spring, St. Mary's closed, and I remained home for the next few years with Amelia and her sister, Anya, who was born almost two years later.

During this time at home, I began attending St. Jude the Apostle church and found that it was
a place where I felt truly comfortable and welcome.  I became a member of the Children's Liturgy team, which involved teaching the Gospel to parish children ages 4-8 during Sunday mass.    It naturally followed that, when looking for a four-year-old pre-K program for Amelia, we came to St. Jude the Apostle School.  My husband and I immediately fell in love with the school and it wasn't a difficult decision to make when it came time to choose between our local pubic school kindergarten and St. Jude.  Amelia is currently a sixth grader here at St. Jude the Apostle and  Anya is in fourth grade.  I joined the faculty of St. Jude as a first grade teacher in 2011-2012.  I moved around for a few years, teaching first, second, then third grade and settled in second grade in 2014-2015.

In my free time (what's that??)  I enjoy reading, long walks with the family dog, Pearl, and writing.
