See Summer camp attachment on my email….
***PLEASE SEND IN A REUEASBLE (GROCERY RECYCLABLE) BAG BY WEDNESDAY. WE WILL BE CLEANING OUT OUR DESKS AND LOCKERS AND WILL NEED A STURDY BAG TO BRING OUR STUFF HOME IN!
--Please remind your children that there is one more week of school and my behavior expectations have not changed. I may have to have some of my students sit out some of the events on Field Day if they cannot control their actions.
• VOLUNTEERS: I would like to thank all of my volunteers that have been a tremendous help to our students this year! You will not need to report for the rest of the year! Have a great summer and I hope to see my classroom volunteers at the Volunteer Breakfast on May 30 at 9:00.
• At conferences, most of you checked out the green and blue Math handbook. Please return it to me a.s.a.p. If it is not returned, there will be a charge of $19.22. Thank you! I am still in need of many of these books!
From Mrs. Obraza...
Teachers have begun preparing students’ class placements for next school year. We want you to know how much time and thoughtful consideration is given to the individual needs of each child. The students’ best interests are of utmost importance as the school staff focuses on placing each child within a classroom environment and among classmates that will foster the greatest success for each student. Because this consideration is given to our 350+ students, I ask that parents refrain from submitting requests for specific teachers. Thank you for your understanding.
Warm Weather Reminders…
The temperature is typically HOT our last few weeks of school! Please remember tank tops are not permitted unless the straps have a width of about 3 adult fingers (no spaghetti straps). Flip flops are not permitted for Physical Education or Recess; students must have a change of shoes and it is not a CHOICE as to whether they bring a change of shoes. Last, shorts should fall at or below fingertip length.
For all above expectations, students will receive one verbal warning. After the initial warning/day, the student will need to call home for a change of clothes/shoes.
****Please make sure your students have lunches/lunch money. There will be no lunch charges through the end of the school year. Thanks for your help with this!

Science: Our unit on Soil, Rocks and Minerals began this week. We explored rocks and discussed the three categories: sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous. Next week we will explore what actually makes up different types of soil and do some mineral testing.
