MARCH!! MARCH is moving quickly ... news about March activities will be posted SOON!!! Keep checking! :) Grade 5 finished the lab on chromatography. Ask your child what chromatography means. Students will be completing lab #2 this month ~ March~!      CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' WEEK was VERY SPECIAL! The week started with a beautiful prayer service! What a tribute to Catholic schools! Thank you, Ms. Sullivan! "We Walk Humbly with the Saints"  5G wrote essays to support our bulletin board theme of RESPECT! I hope you have had a chance to read some of the essays - they are very well done! Come check out the bulletin board! Each class designed a bulletin board with a moral as a theme. They are all great! Tuesday was the day of the faculty/student basketball foul shooting contest!! Do you know who won???  The 5th grade finished their constellation books! On Wednesday and Thursday of Catholic Schools' Week the students shared their books with students in kindergarten and 1st grade. What a success!  5G was treated to treated to a celestially wonderful show on the LIVES OF STARS in the mobile planetarium! The tie-tye shirts are GREAT! (THANK YOU, MRS. CLARK!) Check them out in our slide show section! We put our "dance shoes" on and had lots of fun! What a super way to end our celebration of Catholic Schools' Week!  D.A.R.E. is wrapping up for Grade 5! D.A.R.E. has been a fantastic experience for the 5th grade! The students have learned ways to make good decisions using the D.A.R.E. decision making model.  Students are ending their D.A.R.E. experience by writing an essay about what they have learned during these weeks. THANK YOU Officer Storer! Many novels have been read by the students as each student strives to read 25 books this year! Online AR (Accelerated Reader) tests are taken. Novels are chosen by the student and must be an appropriate reading level. Each student puts a sticker on the classroom chart as a test is passed!         Writing Workshop! Each student has several writing pieces started! We are looking forward to sharing our publications with each other during "Author Share." Published work will be posted on our "Writing Workshop" bulletin board.
