Research Guide Research Guide

The Hoosick Falls School District recognizes that in order to be academically successful our students must understand the process of research and must possess the ability to write an effective research paper according to an established format.  Therefore, a research handbook has been developed to ensure a consistent approach throughout our district.

Hoosick Falls has adopted MLA Style and a research process which derives form a synthesis of the Inquiry Method and the Eisenberg Berkowitz approach.(Sometimes referred to as the Big 6)

The research process can be divided into the steps presented below:

Topic Selection

Explore the Topic

Investigate the Topic ?Locate Information

Evaluate Sources

Record Information

Organize Information

Create/Construct the research product based upon analysis of the compiled information

Final Product and Evaluation of Research Process
