Welcome to the Genet PTO Web Site
We welcome and encourage all families to join the PTO – we have a lot of work to do this year and we need energetic and enthusiastic participation – come to PTO meetings, contact board members and committee chairs, and share your thoughts, talents, ideas. The next PTO meeting is Monday May 21st, 2012 at 6:30 in the Genet cafeteria. Free babysitting is available for children 3 and older. Check out the NEW Genet spirit wear being sold to support Genet school. You can shop online for the new spirit wear 24 hours a day, visit the website below and order today!! http://www.companycasuals.com/genetelementary Upcoming Events Field Day ~ Field day will take place on June 7th from 9-2:30 for grades 1-5. The children will take part in different events. We are in need of volunteers for this day. Please contact Mr. Hosley if can are able to help out. Lunch will be provided for any volunteers. Kindergarten will have their own field day on June 5th from 1-2:30.
FUN FRIDAY ~ The next fun Friday will be Friday June 1st. It will be Hawaiian Day! Get ready for summer by showing off your best Hawaiian outfit.
Sno Cone Sale~ The last sno cone sale of this year will be on Friday June 1st at all lunches.
SCRIPTS PROGRAM ~ Buy your gift cards through Genet PTO and make Genet extra money! See the tab labeled BUY GIFT CARDS THROUGH THE PTO on the right hand side of the page for more information. Remember they can be used for everyday purchases like your morning coffee. GENET PTO earns money for every card brought.
SCHOOL BANKING ~ Every Friday in the Library
MILES FOR MICHAEL ~ Michael Cancer is an 8th grade student in Goff Middle School. He is awaiting organs transplants in Omaha Nebraska. There will be a run for Michael on June 2nd to help raise money for medical expenses. As you can imagine, the bills are piling up for the family. If you cannot participate in the run, please consider giving a donation. Checks can be made out to "Goff Student Activity Club". Let's show Michael this community is thinking about him!! Michael has siblings in the high school and elementary school. You can download the entry form from the bottom of this page.
Summer Reading Book Sale~ Children will have the opportunity to buy gently used books for $.25 to keep up with their reading over the summer. This is a great way to find some new and exciting books! This will take place on June 5 & 6 in the main lobby from 8:30 - 2. The teachers will send the students down in small groups throughout the day. The books will sell for .25 cents each. We are looking for some volunteers to help. Interested people please email Lisa Lenartz @ llenartz@yahoo.com We will be collecting the "gently used" books until the fair starts in the library. So, if you have any books you are done with please send them into the library and then come and pick out some new ones!
