New York on the Move

Who were the first inhabitants of

New York State?

In our new unit, we will be exploring the Iroquois and Algonquin Indians of New York.  We will also become amateur archaeologists and do a "mock dig", looking for artifacts to help explain our past.

Did you know, the Iroquois Indians made false faces as part of the "False Face Society"?

The indian children spent many hours playing games of skill to sharpen their hunting skills and to learn patience.

We will spend an entire afternoon doing many activities related to Native American life.
