About the Librarian Michelle Mayo

About Ms. Mayo:

After Graduating, I moved back to Lewisville and taught first grade for four years at Degan Elementary, the school I had attended.  In 2000, I married Michael Mayo and moved to Plano.  I taught first grade and fifth grade and began working on my masters degree.  When my husband and I bought a house in McKinney, I had the opportunity to help open a new school, Bennett Elementary.

When Lauren Bailey Mayo graced the world in January 2004, I decided to stay home for a year.  I concentrated on motherhood and finished my degree.  In May 2005 I graduated from Texas Woman’s University with my Masters in Library Science.

In the Fall of 2005, I joined the Ashley team and experienced opening a new school as the librarian. In 2007, my family expanded again with the birth of Matthew Dillon Mayo. 

Each year I enjoy my chosen career in education, and will continue helping our students grow as readers and researchers
