The purpose of the guidance curriculum is to help students develop basic life skills.  I will be visiting each classroom on a regular basis to teach lessons in the areas of Career Development, Academic Development, and Personal Development.

This year Bledsoe students will be participating in the Cool Kids Curriculum.  The goal of Cool Kids is to teach students character-building, as well as, social and emotional skills.

Students will learn these skills through modeling, role-playing and reinforcement.

The program is based on these Cool Rules:

• Stay Cool:  handling feelings
• Work it Out: brainstorming solutions to solve problems, resolving conflicts, and making good choices
• Give Respect: talking and acting with respect
• Get it Done: fulfilling responsibilities and achieving goals
• Be Confident: thinking positive thoughts and being resilient
