Art Newsletter November February is going to be a very busy month in the art room! Kindergarten got a lot of scissor practice by tracing and cutting hearts to make a few heart-themed projects. First grade is finishing a winter flower picture and will next move on to discuss warm and cool colours with a holiday theme. Second grade is starting a paper batik project with a flower theme. This is a project that takes time and patience. They should look fantastic when finished! Third grade been working to finish a winter snow globe paper project and will next use oil pastels to create a beautiful holiday heart. Fourth grade has begun work on a Buddhist-inspired Mandala and will use watercolour to finish. Fifth grade is working on taking 14 random objects and creating a unified and cohesive artwork with them. Sixth grade has begun work on a perspective piece. This will take time to get all the lines correct, but when done, they will look amazing! Seventh grade has been working on using calligraphy pens to write in a very fancy, stylized way. Eighth grade has finally finished their Japanese block print landscapes and are now working on drawing an animal that naturally camouflages itself in nature. These should be quite interesting to see when done.
