Wildcats Bring Home State Medals!

Nine WHS students competed at the UIL state tournament in Austin May 6, 7 and 8 at the University of Texas. Our students brought home medals in 6 events and 1state championship!.

 Catherine Drott placed 4th in Headline Writing while Sara Grace Sweeney captured the silver medal in Feature Writing.  Caroline Weathers won the bronze medal in Social Studies.  Kate Mohr took the silver medal in Literary Criticism with the 2nd highest score in the state 1A-5A.  Haley Wheat brought home 2 medals, winning the bronze in Lincoln Douglas Debate and the gold in Informative Speaking!  Congratulations to these state winners and congratulations to the entire UIL Academic team on an award-winning year!
