The second Parent Teacher Conference of the year will be this Thursday, January 27, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.  Some of your child's success depends on your knowledge and involvement in his/her educational process. I encourage you to stop by and find out more about what your child is doing in school.

Due to inclement weather conditions we had to postpone the Parfaits for Parents for the fourth grade students. iT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 3 FROM 7:15-7:45 A.M.

VALENTINE'S DAY PARTIES:  All parties will be held on February 14 from 1:30-2:30.  All parents are invited to attend and enjoy the party.  Please remember that we are encouraging healthier food items as you prepare your party snack.  Due to limited manpower to deliver items to the classrooms, we are asking that you send your gift items for your children to your homes.

Each month we host an assembly recognizing our S.T.A.R. students and their parents. Congratulations to all of the students that have been chosen already. Please encourage your child(ren) to strive to be a S.T.A.R. at Martin Elementary School by being a very responsible and well behaved pupil each day.  Everyone has the opportunity to become a S.T.A.R.!!

Academic pep rallies are carefully planned by Mrs. Libby Nunnelee (school counselor) at the end of each six weeks. The top ten students with the most Accelerated Reader points with an 80% average proficiency in each grade level are recognized with an incentive prize.  The top 25 users of Skills Tutor receive recognition as well as a prize incentive.  Both of these programs enhance your child's education. I challenge you to encourage your child to become a "winner" at one of our pep rallies by reading more or completing more Skills Tutor lessons.

Field trips for the year are already in the process of being planned. Notes concerning the costs and information are being sent home so that we can prepare a safe and well planned educational experience for your child. Please read all information carefully and  respond by the set dates.
