Zoo Trip

Some information about our zoo trip on Thursday, May 10, 2012.

The following parents have signed up for our trip:  Mr.Beck, Mrs. Borum,

Mrs. Dellaposta, Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. Espiridion, Mr. Judge, Mrs. Karn, Mrs. Kenney, Mrs. Lofton, Ms. Rice, and Mrs. Strama. Everyone is riding the bus.

Children and chaperones should arrive at school by 8:15 and come directly to the classroom. I will be in the classroom by 7:45 .This will allow time for one last trip to the bathroom (there will be no stops along the way).  They do not need to bring their book bags. Students may bring a book or paper and pencil to draw if they like, but will be responsible for their items.

Children should be dressed weather appropriately (shorts are fine) and should wear good walking shoes.  They should wear their beautiful, new first grade t-shirt!  You may want to put sun block on them, too. If our t-shirts are not ready then students should wear their gym uniforms.

Each child will need to bring a lunch and drink  in a disposable bag, so that it can be thrown away, and not carried around for the rest of the day.

Children may want to bring money for a souvenir.  They should have some means of carrying it - pockets, “Fanny Pack,” mom or dad, etc.

The bus will leave school promptly at 8:30, and return by 3:00.  Bus rules prohibit eating/drinking on the bus.

Each chaperone will be in charge of his/her own child.  At the zoo each chaperone and child will be on their own to explore whatever interests them the most.  We will meet back at the bus at 1:30 for the return trip.
