Established in 1968, part of our goal at St. John’s Christian Preschool is to help children develop Christian habits in getting along with others, solving problems, learning and playing in a group, helping themselves, sharing with others, and assuming small responsibilities. Working together with home, we aim to enrich your child’s life now, and also help prepare him/her for entering school.
Purpose: The Christian Preschool of St. John’s Lutheran Church serves to provide a variety of religious, social, emotional, mental, and physical experiences aimed at stimulating the interests and skills of your child. At St. John’s Christian Preschool the children receive a blend of secular and interdenominational Christian teachings.
Curriculum: Our school follows a developmental approach to skill acquisition. All activities revolve around the day’s unit of study (Five Senses, Holidays, Seasons, etc.) We strive to channel the children’s energy through gross/fine motor tasks, story time, cooking, art projects, music, field trips, etc.
Admissions Policy: A child must be at least 3 (or 4) by December 1st of the year of enrollment, and must be toilet trained (“take care of themselves”).
He/she must also have a completed medical report showing up-to-date immunizations required for all children attending schools in New York State.
St. John’s Christian Preschool welcomes students of all racial, national, ethnic, and religious backgrounds; however, we are not equipped to admit a child requiring an unusual amount of attention due to mental or physical disabilities.
School Days: Our school year runs from mid-September to the end of May. Since we are located in the Victor Central District and are in close proximity to Pal-Mac Central School District, we follow their calendars with a few modifications. All classes are staffed by two qualified professionals.
