Second Grade Happenings

What's happening now...
Second graders are learning an authentic Hispanic folktale about a little cockroach...La Cucarachita Martina. They are reading the story daily and will be sharing it with their reading buddies and YOU! Soon they will be acting it as a class. This is always a much anticipated unit! Students also learned a classic Hispanic song entitled "De Colores". Click on the link below to view your child's class video!

What's coming up... The next unit will focus on different animal classifications. Second graders will be learning how to name many animals and discuss their characteristics (warm-blooded vs. cold-blooded...fur, feathers, scales...lay eggs vs. live babies). It is impressive how much a second grader can tell you about animals in Spanish by the end of this study!
