May 10, 2012 English 9-4: Remember to keep up on your reading of Great Expectations. The short test is scheduled on Wednesday, May 30th. Here is a link to an excellent study guide: http://www.shmoop.com/great-expectations/ April 2, 2012 All Classes: Quarter Four begins today. With vacation fewer than two weeks away, we'll be very busy between now and the 12th. Paying attention to due dates and getting work in on time is essential. Check the homwork section often. If we can finish up Romeo and Juliet before our break then there will be no homework during the break! March 29, 2011 English 9-3 Classes: Summaries of Act 2 & 3 of Romeo & Juliet are not due until next week. We will work on them at the beginning of the week (4/2) and they will be due at the end of the week (4/5-4/6). December 12, 2011 I now have a Google account exclusively for sharing documents related to our class. If you would like to share a document as a way to pass in an assignment, you may do so by using my new account: mrnailor23@gmail.com As always, do not assume I received your work unless you get a response and...ALWAYS INCLUDE YOUR NAME ON THE DOCUMENTS YOU SHARE! October 4, 2011 Don't forget the first big test is coming up Thursday (Wednesday for Period 2). Use the many valuable resources on this site and your notes to study up...don't just show up for the test. Be prepared. Here is a great site with test prep ideas..."How To Study"
September 28, 2011 With tests coming up on October 5th / 6th, it will be helpful to check the "slideshows" section of the website for review. For example, all of the vocabulary words are posted here for both 9-3 and 9-4 classes. I also posted some slides about writing for help with your essays. September 23, 2011 Trying to remember something we talked about in class? Or maybe you missed a class and would like a copy of my lecture notes? Check out the new "Whiteboard" page where we post pictures of the whiteboard after lectures.
September 21, 2011 A new form is now available for submitting essays online. Check it out in the "forms" section from the main menu. September 19, 2011 In our English 9-3 classes this week, we have been exploring the idea of conflict in short stories like "The Most Dangerous Game" and "The Lady, or the Tiger." Below is an image from our classroom discussion in case you missed something. The first draft of our short essays is due on Friday, September 23 (except for period four's which are due Monday). Our honors English classes are working through Cold Sassy Tree and will be writing the essay following up our summer reading (Life of Pi) this week. The criteria I use to grade this assignment is available here in Microsoft Word format. Mr. Nailor
