In Computer Lab we have classes in Technology for Pre-School 4 through Sixth Grade.
All of the classes, Pre-K through 6th have Smartboard Interactive White Boards. Many of the children and adults using the boards are amazed by its possibilities!
The Preschoolers are learning to control the mouse. They are getting so much better. They are using Gold Ridge Kindergarten Games and Educationcity.com to practice their beginning Reading and Math Skills. These programs can be used at home too!

The 1st Graders are Microsoft Word and learning to copy/paste/resize pictures. They are getting so much better. This is a skill we will continue to practice. They will be using Microsoft Word and the Internet to find seasonal coloring papers. We will soon be looking up Valentine's Day Coloring Pages.
Grades 2-6 use Mavis Beacon Keyboarding to practice their Keyboarding Skills. We have keyboard covers that hide the keys, so that the students are really learning letter placement.
The 2nd Graders are practicing the various things they can do with Microsoft Word. They are practicing keyboarding, using Mavis Beacon Keyboarding. Check out the slideshow of their first Keyboarding Experience. They continue to practice their copy/paste/resize skills.
The 3rd Graders are going a little further with Microsoft Word. They are learning to copy/paste/resize, put on page borders, and put things inside of, behind, or in front of a box. The have just learned a new Educational Program called: "Zoombinis-Logical Journey". They are enjoying this new program.
The 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Classes are using a new program we bought with our Title Funds. The program is called Music Ace. It is being used in coordination with their Computer and Music Classes. Ask your child about his/her experiences with this new program. They seem to enjoy using it.
The 4th Graders come in twice a week. One day they practice their keyboarding using Mavis Beacon Keyboarding. On their second class day, they are using the Internet and Microsoft Word to write their "ABCs of New York State". They are creating varied and interesting Alphabet Books about New York State, including cities, sites to visit, famous explorers, famous New Yorkers etc.
The 5th and 6th Graders continue to build on the skills they have learned the past few years. The will be learning to do labels, put music to the powerpoints and so much more.
