Homework & Projects
|
|

Students normally have nightly math homework Monday-Thursday. At the end of our math lesson, they record the assignment in their math notebook. If for some reason they did not do that, they can safely complete all the remaining problems from the chapter taught that day. We usually do some in class and the rest for homework. Often the homework is the corresponding "Reteach" sheet that is in packet. This is done in lieu of book work, not in addition to.
Spelling & Greek & Latin Stems (Weekly)
Vocabulary (Roots) sheet is reviewed on Monday along with a spelling pretest on 10 words (written on backside of vocabulary sheet). For homework students are to finish the vocabulary sheet and attach a binder sheet of paper with the 10 spelling words written in complete sentences. It is due first thing Thursday morning. The weekly quiz on Friday. Vocabulary words are on meaning, not spelling.
Independent Reading & Literature Circles (Ongoing)
Students should be reading approximately 20 min. a night, but the amount may vary depending on whether they trying to meet a Lit. Circle goal and/or how much reading they have done in class.
Speeches No speeches for the month of January.
