Hello!  It's Reading Month!!!  All students have brought home yellow reading slips and a cover letter with details about this school-wide event. Please help your child be successful by completing a yellow reading slip and ensuring it is returned to your child's teacher. Since second grade students are expected to read 15-20 minutes each day, students can reasonably complete and return a reading month slip each week of reading month. This is why one of the incentives offered is a 100% Class Participation incentive. Students who turn in their reading slips, totaling 100 minutes and signed by a parent, also receive points to spend in the reading store. Signs are up all over the school telling students what dates and times the reading store is open. There are other incentives as well, but the purpose of Reading Month is to encourage students to read, Read, READ!!!  :)  We are looking forward to hearing about your student's favorite, fabulous books!
