December

December 16 - 8th grade activity night/dance.  20 students worked this event selling pizza, cotton candy, chocolate, blinkie lights, and beverages.

December 16 - Concerns-U Field Trip. Approximately 30 students earned this trip.  Together we went to Walmart and each student was given an 'allowance' of $35 to spend on toys, clothing, or other item for Concerns-U.  Some students teamed up and combined their money to buy larger items like bicycles, outfits, and games. We had approximately $1200 to spend and the kids did great, even remembering to include tax in their estimating. We were there for about an hour. We got to the cash register spending exactly $1203. Special thanks to the ELA teachers at Goff for giving us the remaining money from their Concerns-U coin war to combine and use with our money so we had a large amount to shop with.

Our next stop was to Concerns-U where we delivered all our gifts, and then worked for about two hours helping to sort incoming gifts and organizing the area. At the end, the people from Concerns-U talked to us all about how important this holiday drive is and how there are many people within our own community that have very little, and how the students from Goff can make such a difference.

Check out the Slide Show subsection to see some pictures from this wonderful field trip.
