An important message regarding IB Marks:

Students will receive an IB score of 1-7 based  upon their achievement as measured against the IB Assessment Criteria.  These marks will be posted to report cards, along with traditional grades and citizenship marks.  Unlike traditional ABC grades, the IB marks only reflect their level of achievement on specific, formal assessments such as quizzes, tests, and papers.  IB Marks do not include data such as assignment completion, extra credit points, participation, or effort.  Detailed rubrics for the assessment criteria and assignment requirements will be be explained to students in class, and will be found in their notebooks.

IB marks for Qtr. 1

In Humanities, for Quarter 1, students will be assessed primarily on Criterion A: Knowledge and Criterion D: Organization/Presentation.  The formal assessments used to evaluate student achievement will be short written responses, such as essays, relevant connections, and identifications on quizzes and tests.

IB Marks for Qtr. 2/Semester 1

Final IB Marks for Semester 1 will be assessed based upon student performance on a five paragraph essay related to the theme of Enlightenment thinkers and their impact on the American Revolution and political beliefs.  All four IB assessment criteria will be evaluated.
