Greece Word Power Project:

Word Power is a vocabulary program that promotes correct spelling and correct word usage.  Word Power consists of lists of approximately 10 words that relate to our Social Studies units. (There is also a Double Word power for students who are willing to take on the “extra challenge” of double the amount of vocabulary words.) The students learn the spelling and definitions of these words and incorporate them into a creative writing assignment or project. 

In addition, students receive word power points for using any of these words (correctly used and with proper spelling) in their writing at any time during the year.  Extra credit incentive goes a long way!
