It is with the greatest of hopes that by the end of the year, your eyes and mind will be opened to an entirely new view of science and how it affects your daily life. You are all walking scientist whether you know it or not. Many of the daily decisions you make involve using the scientific method.
Chemistry is all around you. There is nothing that does not involve chemistry. Just you being able to read this involves many chemical reactions taking place within your body. The slightest change in those chemical processes can have a drastic effect on your body as well as your life.
Your body is your temple. Hopefully at the end of the Anatomy and Physiology course, you will have learned how to preserve that temple. If you were given one car and told that is was the only vehicle you would get for the rest of your life, how would you take care of it. Would you get it repaired when you needed? Would you be careful what you put in it? Would you let anyone else cause damage to it? Well, if you would do that for a car, why wouldn't you do that for your body and organs? We were given one, and it has to last for the rest of our lives.
