About me:
Raised in Central Indiana, I graduated from Indiana University in 1991 and student taught in Indianapolis before heading off to Inverness, Scotland for a year of teaching and graduate work. While completing a semester's worth of credits, I co-taught geography and Modern Studies to secondary students at the Millburn Academy in Inverness. 1997 witnessed my first full-time teaching experience along with a new permanent residence and newborn child. I have been at Palmer High School ever since teaching World History, 10th Grade IB U.S. History, World Geography, and AP Human Geography. I finally completed a masters program at Colorado College in 2009 through the Southwest Studies program.
My wife and I now have two daughters and I have assisted the cross country program at Palmer since 2002. Outside of running, I enjoy mountain biking, backpacking & camping, rafting, traveling, and family time. My family is largely defined by Colorado, the west, and our time in its beautiful landscape.
I hope you seek full participation, enjoyment, and serious learning in this class. Through our journey, mentoring and scholarship go hand in hand.
