16 April 2012, Monday: Today we circled up and did a greeting, shared activities we did over break, and then celebrated Adira's birthday with our Acknowledgement Activity. We then played a couple of fun games -- All Aboard and The Human Knot!

19 April 2012, Monday: Representatives from the website JChoice visited us today. Parents will be receiving an email about their visit and about the organization JChoice shortly. It was a very powerful Homeroom as students got to speak with the founding members of JChoice and watch videos of young adults making a difference in our world. It was very inspirational! The JChoice website is http://www.jchoice.org/.

23 April 2012, Monday: Today we circled up and celebrated Leanna's birthday with our Acknowledgement Activity. We then played "You Are A Candle" for the rest of the period! Great fun! Happy Birthday, Leanna!

7 May 2012, Monday: We visited the First Graders today and helped them complete an activity they were working on. Sixth Graders and First Graders worked in small small groups and walked the halls and peeked in on classrooms to find instances of respect around the school!

14 May 2012, Monday: Students shared some of their poems involving alliteration, neologisms, and onomatopoeia from their LA class. We then completed and discussed a worksheet involving communication to help students become better at communicating difficult thoughts in a mature way. We also talked about the importance of body language and how our bodies and facial expressions can convey a lot of information about how we are thinking and feeling.

17 May 2012, Thursday: Today we circled up and celebrated Julia's birthday with our Acknowledgement Activity. Julia then introduced us to the game Freeze! It was a lot of fun! Thank you, Julia, and Happy Birthday!

21 May 2012, Monday: We combined homerooms for the first few minutes of class to congratulate Rebecca and look at the award certificates she received at the State House. Nice job, Rebecca! We then played the game Freeze!

23 May 2012, Thursday: Happy Birthday, Ruby! :) We each said positive things about our Ruby, sang Happy Birthday to her, and then ate the delicious Popsicles she brought in! Thank you, Ruby! After, Jeff from JChoice came and spoke to us about charitable giving through the JChoice website.
