Welcome to my homepage!

 I am very excited about teaching math and religion to my new 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students here at St. Mary Catholic School!  The students have many new things to learn this year, and I feel truly blessed and honored to be their teacher.

+++++++

We are continuing with the comprehensive Saxon math program in both the 5th and 6th grades.  It includes daily Power-Up, new concepts, and lots of guided written practice.  Students are required to have sharpened pencils, copybook, looseleaf paper and folder for class.  A 3-pronged folder works well, as we fold and work on looseleaf on a regular basis.

My 8th grade Pre-Algebra class will be using the McDougal Littell text and workbook.  We will cover a variety of math topics this year, building on some familiar ones, and introducing some new topics.  Required materials for class include copybook, sharpened pencils and folder.

The 7th and 8th grade religion classes will follow our new We Live Our Faith series. I will reference the St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism as well. It has a wealth of information about the truths of the Catholic Faith, in a middle school-friendly format.  Required materials for class include copybook, pen and folder.

Please note:  As per school policy, the students are required to return tests and quizzes with corrections made and a parent signature for scores below 75%.  Homework for math classes is assigned daily for Pre-Algebra and Monday through Thursday for 5th and 6th grade classes.  Please check in with your son or daughter for thorough completion of homework.   Religion homework is assigned periodically.  Thank you in advance for all your support!

Please feel free to contact me via phone or email with any questions or concerns that you may have.  Also please know that it is my goal to do whatever is in the best interest of my students.

I look forward to a great year building positive relationships with parents, students, and the entire SMCS community!
