Brief Bio: I'm a native to Colorado Springs, and also a Palmer alumni. I've been teaching PE now for ten years. I endeavor to offer a variety of positive opportunities for each student to achieve personal success within the physical environment. I spend my time reading, running, biking, yoga, and shuttling my busy girls - ages 14 & 7 all around town. (My husband helps with that too) I love the outdoors - and don't get enough of it...hopefully someday when life slows down a bit. I don't expect any student to walk in with natural abilities, just with the intention to be aware of their own challenges, push back comfortably, and to learn about themselves in the process. But most of all, to have some fun in the process of self discovery - that's possible... if you allow yourself to be open to it! Please...don't hesitate to discuss concerns. The MYP PE program is designed to enable the student to develop: *An appreciation and understanding of the value of physical education & its relationship to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. *The motivation to participate fully in all aspects of physical education *Their optimal level of physical fitness *the skills and understanding necessary to participate successfully in a variety of physical activities, for example, learning, practicing, refining, adapting, thinking, and interacting. *The ability to reflect critically on all aspects of p.e., including being a critical performer. *An understanding of international perspectives on physical activity, sport and health education. *A lifelong interest in and enjoyment of physical activities as a participant.
