Welcome to the Elwood IMC Web Site

What a school thinks about its library is a measure
of what it feels about education.
~ Harold Howe ~
Professor Emeritus at the Harvard Graduate School of Education
and a former U.S. Commissioner of Education

Wow! I can’t imagine a profession better than the one I have. There is immeasurable joy in sharing a story that brings laughter to the students as they listen to a funny story; or the looks of empathy as we share in the sadness when Lulu passes in Saying Goodbye to Lulu.  Reading to students year after year and opening new doors to them brings a smile to my face.

The 2011 – 2012 school year is my twelfth year as Media Specialist at Elwood School. I am looking forward to sharing my love of reading with the students for many more years.  It is my hope that all children will experience the great pleasure of reading for fun.

To contact me: Please call the school (815- 423-5588) or send me an e-mail at: p.hankins@elwoodschool.com

PebbleGo -  We have added a new research database for students in grades K - 3. To visit the site check with your child's classroom teacher or Mrs. Hankins for the home user name and password. PebbleGo is a wonderful database for the young researcher. www.pebblego.com
