AdvisoryAdvisory is a short period held twice a week. Students stay with the same Advisory teacher for their whole career at Hoover. This class gives students another important connection to Hoover and a consistent teacher and group of peers for all their years at Hoover.
The main activities in Advisory: - Weekly announcements, news about Hoover "happenings", and student recognition ("Hawk of the Week").
- Provide a common forum for all students to focus on positive school habits and our specific R2S3 expectations at Hoover.
- Grade-level curriculum. The focus is on success in middle school. This year, 7th grade advisory will make use of "Middle School Confidential, Book 2". This curriculum focuses on helping students make positive choices and improve self-esteem
