Welcome,

My name is Barbara Mangona. I teach our four year olds. The four-year-old class is Monday thru Friday from 8:00 until 2:45. 

My classroom is a place where children are excited to come to school. They look forward to each new day, where there is always a welcome feeling and new experiences within.  I strive to make the classroom a place where children are comfortable and happy. This is achieved by teaching things that are interesting to this age group, that are age appropriate, and that the children can accomplish. This leads to less frustration, the building of self-esteem and a well balanced child.

I have designed the classroom into an inviting environment for four year-old children.  The room has been planned so that each child may spend part of his or her time in both group and individual activities.

Block Area:  Gives children the ability to develop gross motor skills and promotes creative imagination.

Library Area: Is provided so that children may become interested in books and learn how to handle them in an appropriate manner. It also gives the children a place to go and have a quiet place to get away from a busy classroom.

Art Area:  Paints, paper, glue, crayons, scissors and other art supplies are provided in this area. These are the Preschooler’s tools for the written language.

Manipulative Area:  Toys such as Legos, puzzles, stringing beads, etc. are provided to help children develop their fine motor skills and to help them develop problem-solving skills.
