Hello, my name is John Barney and this is my third year teaching junior high math and science here at Topock School. Previously, I spent 10 years teaching in the Parker Unified School district

I grew up and spent the majority of my life in the Corona-Norco are of southern California. I graduated from Cal-State San Bernardino with a Bachelor's Degree in business and spent 8 years working in the private sector before returning to school and receiving my teaching credential.

I have lived in Lake havasu City for 12 years with my wonderful wife Kellie. When we aren't at home doing home improvement projects we can be found out on the lake boating. I also enjoy most sports and my favorite teams are the D-Backs, Suns, Coyotes and Steelers.

I believe that education is a life-long endeavor, and as such I am currently enrolled in the Master's program at Grand Canyon University. In March of 2010 I will be receiving my degree in Educational Leadership(administration). I look forward to continuing my work with the students, staff and members of the Topock School community for a long time to come.
