Dear Fun for Fours Preschool Parents,

We are very excited to have your child join us at Mountainview.  Our teaching staff has many fun and exciting activities planned to help prepare your child for Kindergarten.  We plan to have a very special and eventful year for your child and family.  Before our school year begins, we know that you may have a few questions or concerns regarding our program.  You will find many of the answers to your general questions in the Saugus Union School District Parent & Student Preschool Programs Handbook; however for more specific, site-related questions, please see the information below:

 Preschool Teaching Staff:

Mrs. Nicole Clark is a Preschool Instructor.  This will be her 8th year teaching in our programs.  Nicole has a B.A. in Child Development and has her Master teacher permit.

Miss Megan Chisholm is an Activity Leader 2.  She assists the teacher in the classroom.

Miss Dayna Reed is an Activity Leader 2.  She assists the teacher in the classroom.

Preschool Hours and Late Pick-Up Fees:

Our preschool program hours are 8:30 – 12:00, Monday through Friday.  At this time, we do not have morning or afternoon child care that extends beyond our program hours.  Please do not drop your child off any earlier than 8:30 AM, as the teaching staff will be preparing the room and activities for the day.  We also ask that you pick up your child promptly at 12:00 PM.  There will be a late fee of $1.00 per minute per family for children picked up after 12:00 PM as stated in our Admission Agreement and Parent & Student Preschool Programs Handbook.

We will open the door at 8:30 AM to greet you and your child.  It is important to arrive on time.  When picking up your child, we will again open the door at 12:00 PM.  Please wait until we open the door as the teaching staff might be in the middle of a closing activity.  The children will become distracted if parents begin to walk in the room early.

 Parking:

We ask that you please park in front of the building or along the fence near the park.  The rest of the parking is for staff only.

Contact Information:

It is very important that we have current information on your child’s emergency card including accurate names, phone numbers, and addresses.  If there are any changes in your contact information or anybody that might help pick up your child, please notify us immediately so that the changes can be made on your child’s emergency card.  In addition, it is always helpful to know if there are any changes in your routine at home or in your child’s life that may affect them such as a move, new job, loss of job, etc, so that we can help your child cope if needed.

 Program Changes:

If you need to make any changes in your child’s program, please contact  your Site Supervisor, Jennifer Guevara.  You will be asked to complete a form to document your request.  All changes must be submitted to your Site Supervisor, Jennifer Guevara thirty (30) days prior to the change.

 Parent Helpers:

Today you will receive a form requesting volunteers.  If you are able to help support our program, please complete the volunteer form and submit to us on the first day of school.  Proof of a negative TB test result within the last four years will be required before you can volunteer in the classroom.  We will create a calendar of volunteers based on parent availability that will begin in September.

 Personal Space:

Your child will have a designated cubby with his/her name on it.  You and your child may place your child’s jacket, sweater, etc. in this space.  Backpacks are not necessary or required.  Your receipts and any paperwork will be found in your parent cubby.

 Preschool Information Board:

Please check the parent information board for all current events and lesson plans for the week.  We will post any pertinent information to the class on this board including the daily schedule, snack menu, and newsletters.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend our preschool orientation.  We look forward getting to know you throughout the year.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (661) 294-5326.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Guevara

Nicole Clark
