Classroom Policies and Procedures

Being on Time

It is very important that student arrived to school by 7:50. We want all children to have time to unpack and get organized.

Note: If your child enters the room after 8:00, they are considered tardy.

If your child is absent be certain to send a note the following day stating your child’s reason for his/her absence.

Mooneyham Expectations

2. Be ourteous

3. Be respectful to others and their property

4. Be safe

Classroom Rewards

In fifth grade, we have a ticket reward system in which students are able to obtain tickets as their teacher notices great student behavior. Here are some of the great rewards they can obtain after 50 tickets are collected:

  • Take off shoes in class
  • Sit in Teacher's chair
  • Wear crazy hait in class
  • Bring a stuffed animal to class
  • Bring your favorite snack

Classroom Consequences

1. Warning

2. Loss of value time/10 minutes

3. Silent lunch

4. Parent contact

5. Office referral

Classroom Snack

Student are allowed to bring a healthy snack to school. In addition, they may drink clear water throughout the school day.

Planners

Planners are used as a tool by the fifth grade teachers to communicate with parents. They need to be checked and signed Monday through Friday evenings of every school week. All students are to be responsible for taking their planners home each evening.

Here are some helpful tips for planners:
• Please do not sign ahead.
• Please do not sign if the planner is not filled in for the day.
On days that students do not have homework, "no homework" is written for that day.
