You are probably enjoying a wonderful long break, and I am also having a great time, but in a different way. I'm listening to Sara Kajder speak. She's a technology wizard from Virginia Tech. I am learning about lots of cool new tools like crazytalk.com, and glogster.com. I can't wait to try some more new things with you!
Guess what happened to me? I had to present Diigo to a group of staff members and I lost my voice! It still went well though! We now have more followers.
So, what are you doing? Skiing? Snowboarding? Video Games?
I hope you are having a great time, and I can't wait to see you next Monday! Mrs. Marlow
2. chatty Monday
Boy! Today was a chatty day! Was it inside recess? Was it the excitement about going to camp? I hope that you got it all out of the way today, and are ready to be the best listeners yet at camp this week. There is so much to do, but we have to listen to directions to get it all done!
Last week you guys rocked! We had an almost perfect popcorn point board, and you made me so proud! I can't wait to get rolling with all of the things we'll be able to do with email after camp.

3. Books, books, books
So, one of my favorite books to read in 5th grade is Hatchet, by Gary Paulson. Have you read that book before? What are the names of your favorite books?
4. favorite technology
Mrs. Peot's class is enjoying the game Bloxorz on www.coolmath4kids.com. What is your favorite game to play on the internet that is educational?
5. Class List
We received our class lists this week! I'm so excited! I know many of the kids and I love them all! Can't wait to get to know everyone and see how our class grows this year. I'll see you soon!
6. First Week....Here and Gone
Wow! I can't believe how quickly the first week of school passed! I had a great time getting to know all of you! I'm very happy at how all of you are showing great responsibility for doing your best work. I hope that we can improve on not being quite so chatty when others are speaking. I know you each have so many stories to share with our class, we just need to work on saving those for appropriate times. I know we can do it!
What things do you like so far? What things could we improve on?
7. Back to School
It's two weeks before school is set to begin and my last week of summer vacation. I can't believe for being such a long summer how quickly it has gone! My plan for this week is to not worry too much about school and enjoy the last moments with the boys before we all start school full time on Aug. 31st.
I am dying to know my class list though! Teacher's normally get those before the kids, but this year, we're waiting right until the last minute too! I've heard all about how I'm going to love this group of 5th graders coming up and can't wait to fall in love with each of them!
Math camp was last week and it was actually really fun! I know...you think of math camp and you probably think, "BORING!" but that wasn't the case! The kids were really great! We tried to do lots of fun activities while getting in the review they needed before school starts and I think we accomplished our goal. Mr. Marlow taught with me and I really liked working with him. He made us all laugh!
Well, Ben and I are watching Harry Potter, so I guess I'll start paying attention again! Anyone seen the newest Potter flick to arrive out in theaters this summer? I normally go to all the opening days, but this summer didn't allow me to go yet, so I need the scoop!
