Class Information » Classroom Expectations
I believe that all children deserve the chance to succeed in the classroom. In order to ensure that all students have this opportunity, it is important for each child to agree to follow certain classroom guidelines.
1. Follow directions quickly.
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.
3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.
4. Make smart choices.
5. Keep your dear teacher happy.
I expect all students to behave appropriately to ensure a positive and productive learning environment. Students who choose to be disruptive will have the following consequences:
1st time--verbal warning
2nd time--time away from the group
3rd time--loss of recess & note home
4th time--meeting with parent, child & teacher
5th time--referral to principal
There is a lot of positive reinforcement and praise in our classroom. Students will be recognized on an individual basis, as well as a whole group.
Our class is also using “Tompkins Bucks.” Students can earn this money in many different ways; however, they can also have the money taken away for not following classroom expectations. There will be certain times during each trimester when the students can use their money for special activities and prizes.
