Geology |
Geology is the study of Earth, its formation and the processes that make it dynamic. Students will learn about the Rock Cycle and focus on minerals and the three main categories of rocks. They will also focus on map making and reading, fossils and earth History. Climates and processes will also be discussed. Deserts, glaciers, mass wasting, erosion are examples of topics covered in these two areas.
The class will be active outside especially on block days. Activities will include gps use, map making, stream activites, hiking etc.
The class is intended for juniors and seniors and should be challenging and fun. Expectations are that all students will broaden their understanding of the Earth and its dynamic processes.
