March flew by and April will be gone before you know it. We are hard at work as always in first grade. In reading, we will be working on long vowel patterns ue and ew as well as the controlled -r patterns or, ar, ir, ur, and er. In math, we will be working on adding with ten and decomposing addition sentences. In Religion, we will be talking about Holy Week as well as the fruits of the Holy Spirit. In social studies, we will be working with maps. In science, we will continue our dinosaur recearch. We are having a great time finding dinosaur facts!   We are very excited to have Miss Helinski, our student teacher, with us in first grade! We have a lot of fun learning with her! She will be with us until May 4th!
