 Welcome to my classroom website!

During the Library special, we focus on the successful development of literacy concepts presented in an engaging manner.  Technology is also integrated into the program in order for students to learn in a technology based environment.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Never judge a book by its movie.

 ~J.W. Eagan

Reading Tips for Parents:

1. Read to and with your child daily-even if your child has already learned to read.  Cuddle up in a quiet, comfortable spot to help your child associate reading with feeling secure, relaxed, and loved.

2. Discuss what you read together.  Ask questions and listen attentively to your child's answers.

3.  Be patient if your child is struggling.  Let them take their time while reading aloud.  Help your child figure out the meaning of new words from the context of the sentence.

4. Take your child to the library often and check out a variety of age-appropriate books.

5. Encourage your child to bring a book along wherever he or she goes.

6. Be a role model-read often!
