Classroom News Welcome to the 3S News page! Dec. 20, 2011: Merry Christmas! One more day til our winter break! We've been busy getting ready for Christmas . . . Dec. 9, 2011: This week was very busy! Abbi won Wildcat of the Month and ate lunch with Mr. Buchs. On Tuesday Mr. Timm came and talked to us about Haiti. There was a bad earthquake in Haiti in 2010. We are donating toothbrushes and toothpase to give to the kids in Haiti. Their school is just like a wood shed. On Wednesday we had our Christmas concert. Mrs. Schafer brought her daughter to the concert, and she wrote "good job" on the board. We made train cars for the Polar Express. We also made ornaments to hang from our ceiling. We decorated our Christmas tree in our classroom, too. We are reading "Moses goes to a Concert" in reading. We also read "Earthquake in the Early Morning". by Kylie & Hampton Nov. 18, 2011: This week we read a story about spiders in reading. In math we have started learning about multiplication and division. This week Hampton had his birthday. On the 17th he turned 9 years old. This quarter in science we've been learning about rocks and minerals. In art we started our gingerbread houses. We also had a party because our coin jar was full! By Livia and Trevor Oct. 19, 2011: We went to a bullying assembly and an antique assembly this week. We shelled corn and made apple ribbons, rings, and chunks. We took a math test and we did some cursive. Trevor, Kylie, Anna and Livia brought in book report projects. We are reading the story City Green in reading. We wrote about City Green in our journals, too. Remember the food drive is this week! Kayden is moving in two more days, we will miss him! He brought in a cookie cake. In math we made a class foot. By Libbey & Kayden Sept. 30, 2011: In math we learned diagram boxes. This week was Spirit Week. We learned about the Saguaro cactus in reading. We are learning about resourses in social studies. Everyone had CRAZY hair on Wednesday!! By Andrew Sept. 9, 2011: We must turn in 200 pages for book reports by next Friday. We have been talking about what happened on Sept. 11 2001 in New York. Every kid in the classroom has a mailbox that they put their papers in that they have to get done. By Anna Here's our first report, August 29, 2011, from Katie & Madison: In art we are making paper people. Sat. was Libbey's b-day. We have 45 coins. We practice math facts every night.
