Goff Middle School Orchestra Mr. Nathan Lawrence, director CONCERT - mandatory for all 7th and 8th grade orchestra students (and thank you to the eleven 6th graders who will be joining us)..... Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012. Columbia HS Auditorium. 7:00 PM. Students should arrive by 6:30 and meet in the orchestra room. Program: Rondeau, Circle Dance, Dark Visions, and Iron Clad.
Review sheets for 7th and 8th grade midterms are below. ALSO - flash cards - click here - this was prepared for the 7th grade midterm, but will also work for the 8th grade midterm. Note: they were prepared in viola clef, so any notes that appear on a staff will be in viola clef. Use them if they are helpful to you. Still looking for comments from people about the new recordings on the recordings page. Please visit there, listen, and comment.
Practice recordings for the Electrify Your Strings concert with Mark Wood are now posted. Please go to the recordings page and find them there. They are at the bottom of the long list of recordings. Recordings for both groups (5-7th grade, 8-12th grade) may be found there. Concerts upcoming at CHS: February 9 - 7th and 8th grade orchestra students combined. March 9-10 - Electrify Your Strings with Mark Wood. April 17 - District-Wide String Festival May 17 (8th grade with 7th grade combined) May 21 (7th grade with 8th grade combined) May 22 - 6th grade Included on the recordings page are recordings of NYSSMA pieces. Sorry, I couldn't get ALL of them on there - but most are up. Let me know if you need a recording.
