Welcome to 6th Grade Band!!! Second quarter practice chart files are now attached if you need another copy. Just select your child's lesson day and print! All 6th Grade Band students will have a Concert Eb scale quiz the week of January 17 - 21. All 6th Grade Band students will also have a Word Wall quiz during Band on Tuesday or Wednesday of the same week. PRACTICE GUIDELINES 1. YOUR CHILD SHOULD PRACTICE A MINIMUM OF 20 MINUTES FIVE DAYS A WEEK. 2. THE MOST IMPORTANT TIME FOR YOUR CHILD TO PRACTICE IS THE EVENING OF THEIR LESSON. 3. SCHEDULE A REGULAR TIME FOR PRACTICE EACH DAY, AND HELP YOUR CHILD STICK TO IT. 4. KEEP INSTRUMENTS IN TOP MECHANICAL CONDITION. INSTRUMENTS SHOULD BE CHECKED AND CLEANED BY A PROFESSIONAL AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. 5. FOR THE STUDENT: PRACTICE DIFFICULT SECTIONS IN SHORT SEGMENTS AND SLOWLY. CAREFULLY CHECK THE NOTES AND KEY SIGNATURES TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE BEING ACCURATELY READ. USE THE FINGERING CHART IN YOUR LESSON BOOK AS NEEDED.
This is a website which acts as a metronome (a metronome is a device which keeps the beat for students while practicing their instrument).
