Parents,

We are so excited to have your child in our class this year!

We will be working on writing and sentence structure all year. As part of this, your child will be asked to write a weekly sentence for homework by Friday each week. This sentence sometimes has a topic or should include sight words but students should be practicing S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G out the sounds to write the sounds they hear. Spelling should be correct for the sight words we have already gone over. There should be neat writing, capitalization at the beginning of each sentence and a period at the end of each sentence. Thank you for helping your child with this. It will get easier the more they write.

Students will be practicing writing 1 through 20 and sequencing these numbers with one to one correspondence in Math. We will be working on the concept of probability,patterning,measurement using pan balance and odd and skip counting by tens, fives and twos.
