Amy Koloff Teaching is a great passion of mine. This year begins my 14th year of teaching. My first teaching position was as a long term substitution teacher in special education at LaGrange Elementary. I then spent the next 8 years at Crestwood Elementary teaching various grade levels from K-3rd grade. In my tenth year, I began teaching at St. Francis in the 4th grade - only to find out the day before school started that I was pregnant with twin girls. Needless to say, I stayed home the following year to be a full-time mommy. Four years ago, I worked with Ms. Brigette and the JK 2 days a week and had an awesome time. In the 2008-2009 school year, I taught 3rd grade Science beginning in October and loved every minute of it. In 2009-2010, I taught 3rd and 4th grade Science and had a great time learning with a wonderful group of kids. This past year was my first year back teaching full time as a lead teacher since I was pregnant with Caroline and Julia (who are now in kindergarten!). I am very excited to be back in the Language Arts and Social Studies departments. I graduated from Centre College with a BA and I have a MAT degree from the University of Louisville. Outside of school, I have been married for 7 years to Phillip, who is West Virginia native and an engineer at GE. In my free time, "ha ha," I like to read, travel, and hang out with family and friends either in Louisville or West Virginia.
