Welcome to our Pre-K classes at Angleton Christian School! We want your child to have a fun and successful year in my class. Please feel free to contact us if there are situations that need to be discussed. We are always willing to schedule a conference at any time! About Our School: Our mission is to provide the students of ACS with quality, God-centered education; training children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), equipping students (II Timothy 3:16-17) to glorify God (Psalm 86:8) by being a witness for Jesus Christ to the world (Matthew 28:19), through a curriculum which challenges students to attain academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual excellence enabling them to purse the secondary education of their choice and preparing them to be knowledgeable Christian participants in our nation and in our world. School Hours: School begins promptly at 8:00a.m. and ends at 3:00p.m. Chapel: Our school conducts a weekly Chapel service every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. Students are required to wear their red polo shirt and khaki pants/shorts. Attendance: A successful school experience is the responsibility of the children, the parent, and the school. Your child's progress, both academically and socially, is influenced to a great extent by daily participation. Regular attendance without tardiness is a key. School Work: Please look in your child’s backpack EVERY DAY. We send all school news by way of your child in your child’s TAKE HOME FOLDER. These folders will come home daily and are to be sent back each day. Please send all notes, money, permission slips, and other important things you want me to find to school in your child’s folder. Please take out all papers completed in your child’s folder everyday. Review this work with your child and have him/her explain what they learned at school that day. Birthdays: Birthdays are Wonderful!! Simple treats may be sent to school (or brought by you) on your child’s birthday. Sending a birthday treat is optional. Birthday treats are appreciated but certainly not expected. You are more than welcome to bring in treats for your child’s summer birthday if you would like! Monthly Calendar: Please watch for a new monthly calendar to come home at the end of each month. This calendar will let you know the skills we will be covering for the month and special events that will be happening in our classroom and school. Star Student : At some point during the school year, your child will be recognized as our “Star Student.” When it is your child’s turn, you will receive a detailed note about this event. It will also be listed on our Monthly Calendar. A bulletin board in the room will be reserved for the “Star.” I am asking parents to help their child create a poster that includes favorite foods, favorite color, favorite book, what your student wants to be when he/she grows up, their church, hobbies, family photos and anything else you can think of that will help us learn about your STAR child! There is also a shelf available under the bulletin board to display other pictures, trophies, stuffed animals, etc. Your child will get to present his or her poster and hang it in our classroom during their designated time. Room Needs: -Room Helpers~ For assisting in special projects, helping with bulletin Boards, making copies, cutting out materials, etc… -Parent Volunteers~ For Classroom Parties (Christmas, Valentines, End-of- year), Field Trips, Teacher Assistant, etc. -Please contact me if you are interested in helping in our room! On-going Fundraiser for ACS: Our school participates in the “Box Tops for Education” Program. Please clip “Box Tops” from participating products and send them to school. Our school earns cash for every Box Top turned in. More information can be found online at http://www.boxtops4education.com. Thank you for your support!
