Class Expectations

Second Grade Expectations Welcome to Second Grade! This year will be filled with learning opportunities to encourage participation and allow students to take ownership of their learning. Below you will find important information on the expectations in the classroom. This letter is intended to promote awareness as to what to expect in Second Grade. Together, we can work towards our goal of making this year a successful transition into a new grade level. Classroom rules 1. Be polite, courteous, and respectful at all time. 2. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. 3. Raise your hand and wait to be called on. 4. Listen quietly while others are speaking. 5. Always do your best. Student Responsibilities 1. Be on task at Tardy Bell. 2. Come to class prepared. 3. Use class time wisely. 4. Be a good listener and ask for help when you need it. 5. Complete and turn in class work and homework on time; (includes Home Folder/Friday Folder/Assignment Notebook) 6. Abide by the classroom/school rules and procedures. Attendance Class will begin at 8:20 a.m. If a student is late for class he or she will need to report to the office to receive a pass into class. Absences If your child is going to be absent from school you must notify the office. When a child is out of school for a period of time other than illness, he or she will receive all missed assignments once he or she returns to school.
