Camp Solomons a traditional camp, where activities help campers to connect to themselves, to others and the world around them. “The traditional summer camp recognizes that play is a powerful form of learning that contributes mightily to the child’s healthy physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.” ACA 2007. Camp Solomons promotes “Maryland Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights”, and will provide a camp atmosphere that creates a connection to the natural environment.
Campers will travel through a rotation throughout the day in order to experience various activities. Traditional arts and crafts, team building sports, science on the shoreline, and health fitness are just a few of the areas. Each day will have a theme, with Friday being Pirates and Parrots Day. Plan for sand castle building contests and boats afloat activities. A weekly hike and visit to the Calvert Marine Museum, and a boardwalk stroll to the Ice Cream Shop.
More items and activities for the summer will be posted on the website as they are added.
