Mrs. Randall as a Third Grader
|
|
Just in case it wasn't obvious... that is me when I was in third grade. Cute as a button, eh? This summer I visited my Mom who lives in New York and we rummaged through some of my old school things and came up with this photo. I thought you might want to see what I looked like when I was 8 years old, just like most of you! I also came across some of my writing, in cursive of course, that I wanted to share with you. I almost posted some of the report card comments that I received from my third grade teacher Mrs. Thomas, but then I came to my senses. Lets just say that I was a bit talkative to say the least. Imagine that.
If I Were The Teacher In This Classroom By: Kelley DeFreze (maiden name) Age 8 1/2
If I were the teacher in this classroom, I'd be nice to the kids and I wouldn't give them any work! I hate to give out work! I would not have any rules. I would let the kids chew gum. I want to have a classroom of my own someday. I would give them two hours of lunch. Then I would also give them three snack periods. We might have one period though were we would get all of our work done. Come to my wacky classroom if you're daring enough.
What Makes Me Sad By: Kelley DeFreze (maiden name) Age 8 1/2
I was so sad when my poodle died. My poodles name is P.J. I love him. He is gray and small. Now let's get back to what else makes me sad. I also get sad when a friend of mine can't come out to play or come to my birthday or something like that. I just carved my pumpkin on Wednesday and my Mother could not be there to watch me so my Dad did. My Mother could not be there because she had a sign language class. Someone at work that she works with is deaf so she takes a class to communicate with her. I felt so sad that she was busy and couldn't carve pumpkins with me.
*Not sure of the title on this piece but the writing prompt was: Pretend you are a parent*
By Kelley DeFreze (maiden name) Age 8 1/2
If I were a parent I would treat my children with love, care, health and respect. I would treat them like I would want others to treat me. I would do special things with them. For instance, I would take them to the movies once in a while like on rainy days when all there is to do is sit by the window and watch the rain fall down. On a nice day I might take them to the park to play on the swings, slide and teeter totter or I would take them to Darien Lake. I bet I would be a great parent to a child.
