One of my favorite parts of being a counselor, is to go into classrooms and offer lessons on a variety of topics.  I am able to get to know the children and they are able to get to know me.  When a problem arises, I think the children feel more comfortable coming to me because they already know me.  The topics I cover, can range from study skills to character education to handling emotions.  If you would like to see the topic to be covered each month, for any given grade level, click on Classroom guidance and go to the grade level you are interested in seeing.
